03-DCE-CaseStudy-Meriden Landfill-2-minAt the beginning of December, two of DCE Solar’s top representatives visited six different firms specializing in solar energy contractor services and installations of solar arrays. The week-long trip to the Northeast United States was focused on delivering hands-on interaction with the innovative solutions-based product lineup from DCE Solar.

“We’d been hearing a lot of challenges from existing and potential clients in the New Jersey and Pennsylvania area,” said Jonathan Moss, Project Manager for DCE Solar. “These included speed of assembly, durability, weight vs. strength/stability, and clean-up, among others. We knew we had products that would solve those problems it was just a matter of giving these firms some exposure to what makes our racking systems a better option than what else is currently on the market.”

The two products featured on the roadshow were the Eco-Top roof-mount racking system and also the Cap-Rack ballasted racking system designed for zero-ground-penetration sites, typically capped landfills.

“Across the board, we found a lot of positive responses to both solutions,” said Moss. “The sample systems easily demonstrated the full advantages of our products. In many cases, the firms we met with were eager to get quotes for upcoming projects and some quickly procured Eco-Top and Cap-Rack systems for their next project.”

Among the features of each product line that firms were most impressed by were:

  • flexible/removable ballast vs. pour-in-place
  • designs that use weight efficiently, rather than requiring more ballast weight
  • integrated wire management
  • preassembled and easy to install
  • sturdy, rigid construction with superior materials
  • corrosion-resistant composition

“It just goes to show how existing vendor relationships, while important in the solar energy industry, don’t always provide answers to the real challenges EPC’s and installers are facing,” said Bill Taylor, CEO of DCE Solar. “That’s why we encourage people to contact us and see what we can do for their profitability.”
